Materials Needed For Cat-Themed DIY Easter Basket For Toddler Girl
If you love to craft with your child, you most likely already have many of these materials.
But if you need to replenish some of your craft supplies, I made things easier for you and included Amazon links.
You can also get most of these at a dollar store.
Here’s what you’ll need to create your baby’s Easter basket.
- White paper plate
- Yellow yarn
- Scissors
- Yellow acrylic paint
- Paintbrush
- Black marker
- Glue or hot glue
- Construction paper (black, yellow, pink, and orange).
Step-By-Step Instructions For DIY Cat Easter Basket
Now it’s time to unleash your creative side and have quality time with your little one building her own Easter basket.
Step 1. Grab 4 paper plates. Glue 2 of them together. Then cut the middle part of the other two and glue those together too.
Step 2. Then place the middle parts of two plates on the full-size two plates as shown in the picture below. And glue them together.
Step 3. Fold all 4 edges of the paper plates inward.
Step 4. Glue the edges at connections to make a basket.
Step 5. Pain the basket yellow and let it completely dry.
Step 6. Now let’s make the handle. Cut a thin stripe of the orange construction paper.
Step 7. To make the handle stronger, wrap the yellow yarn around the orange stripe.
Step 8. Cut the cat’s ears out of yellow construction paper.
And then smaller shaped ones out of pink construction paper.
Now glue those together as shown in the picture.
Step 9. Now glue the ears onto the basket.
Step 10. It’s time to cut out the eyes and the nose.
Use yellow and black construction paper for the eyes as shown in the picture.
And the pink one for the nose.
Step 11. What a cat without whiskers!
Let’s make some out of the yellow yarn.
Step 12. Glue the eyes and the whiskers onto the basket.
Step 13. Now glue the nose onto the whiskers.
Step 14. Draw the cat’s mouth with a black marker.
Step 15. And finally, glue the handle onto the basket.
Make sure you attach it strongly so that it doesn’t come apart and frustrate your little one.
