Ingredients Needed For Christmas Oreo Pops
- 24 standard-sized Oreo cookies
- 48 mini Oreo cookies
- 12 large popsicle sticks
- 1/2 cup light brown candy melts
- 4 cups dark chocolate candy melts
- 1/2 cup white candy melts
- 1/2 cup red candy melts
- black decorating icing
Step-by-Step Preparation With Pictures
1. To get started with your Christmas Oreo pops, separate two of the Oreo cookies by twisting them apart. Be careful so that most of the cream filling stays on one side of the cookie. Set them down next to each other on a cutting board or silicone-lined baking tray.
2. Next, melt the light brown candy melts in a microwave-safe small bowl or use a double boiler. Stir until smooth.
TIP! Learn different ways of how to melt chocolate to the right consistency.
3. Add a dollop of the light brown melted chocolate to the center of each cookie on the cream side of the Oreo.
4. Add the wooden pop stick over the two halves of Oreo cookies so they are stacked on top of each other.
5. Add another dollop of melted chocolate to the wooden stick. Now place the other halves of the Oreo cookie on top.
6. Separate 4 mini Oreos and discard the filling. Dip 1/3 of four cookie halves into the melted chocolate.
7. Add two cookies inside the bottom Oreo towards the top off to the sides. These cookies will resemble the arms. Add two more cookies inside the top Oreo towards the top. These cookies will resemble the ears. Set aside.
8. Next, add a dollop of melted chocolate to 3 cookie halves. Add two to the front of the bottom Oreo for the legs. Add one more on the front of the top Oreo for the nose.
9. Repeat all steps for each of your Christmas Oreo pops.
10. Melt the dark chocolate candy melts in a microwave-safe medium bowl. Dip each of the teddy bear Oreo pops in the melted chocolate to cover them in chocolate coating.
11. Tap on the edge of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate. You may need to hold the pops over the bowl to allow any of the excess melted chocolate to run off the edges.
12. Place each of the chocolate covered Christmas Oreo pops back on the silicone-lined baking sheet or a cookie sheet, or use parchment paper. Set aside to allow the chocolate to set for 45 minutes.
13. After the chocolate is dry, melt the red candy melts in a microwave bowl. Add the melted candy to a decorating bottle or piping bag.
14. Add the red melted chocolate along the top edge for the red Christmas hat. Add more melted chocolate along the top of the bottom Oreo to make a red scarf (as shown in the image below). Set aside.
15. Melt the white candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Add to a decorating bottle. Squeeze the white melted chocolate to finish the hat and scarf. Add more melted candy to decorate the ears and paws (as shown in the image below).
16. Use the black icing to add black dots for the eyes and a small heart for the nose. Set aside to finish drying.
